Robert and Monique’s wedding at Blue Door Venue in Las Cruces, New Mexico was such a beautiful one! Monique planned the colors, attire, decor and sentimental items down to the smallest detail–and they all came together so perfectly. A few of my favorite details from the day included the fun getting-ready robes, Monique’s gorgeous Galina Signature wedding gown (with sleeves! and contrasting peek-a-boo layer!), Robert’s custom navy suit (and the contrasting gray vest), the beautiful florals and greenery by Friendly Flowers.

But even more than the beautiful colors, flowers, decorations and table settings, it was all the personal touches that made their day unique and special! Monique and Robert have been together for nine years. Their commitment to  each other, and to their children, runs deep and strong. It was important to them that their wedding day focus on the things and people that matter most to them. They included so many personalized touches!

Monique and Robert wanted to take time to remember those who weren’t there to celebrate with them. They had a display filled with pictures of loved ones who’ve passed on, so that even though they couldn’t be with them, they could still be remembered, their presence felt. Monique and Robert also had a private gift and letter exchange prior to the ceremony, and then at the alter, they read handwritten vows to each other. Their pastor led them in vows to each other’s children as well, and I don’t think there was a dry eye (myself included). And one of my favorites–they chose to include their children in a family ‘tree ceremony,’ which symbolized each of their commitment to keep their family unit strong and thriving. This day was truly filled with so many beautiful moments!

Mr. and Mrs. Hernandez! It’s been such a pleasure getting to work with you over the past six months. From that very first consultation, I could tell it would be a great experience, and I’ve been excited for this day to come ever since then. Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your special day, witness your union, and document it in a way that will bring a flood of memories and emotion every time you look at your photos.
