When Amy first told me she was planning on a White Sands National Park elopement, and that she wanted ME to photograph it for her, I was beyond thrilled. A White Sands Elopement has been on my bucket list for ages! I shoot portrait sessions at White Sands regularly, and have always wanted to shoot a wedding there. It’s an absolute dream location, and no wonder that Amy and David decided THIS would be the perfect place to say ‘I Do,’ after COVID-19 messed with their plans in Ohio.
Amy and I had several conversations throughout the year about the park, it’s guidelines, vendor recommendations, talking over the timeline–these are all things I do for any of my brides, but I felt a definite desire to go over and above for Amy and David because they had never been to New Mexico before and were planning their destination elopement from across the country. I can imagine how stressful that could be! If I could help in any way, I wanted to.
It’s my absolute favorite when couples share personal wedding vows during their ceremony, and Amy and David’s were among the most tender and heartfelt I’ve ever heard. It was an incredible privilege to witness and capture their love and devotion, and to observe both their love for each other and the crew of close friends who flew in from all over and wouldn’t have missed this day for the world.
Amy and David, congratulations! Thank you for allowing me to play some small part in your wedding and I hope you will cherish these memories!!
Hugs,
Erin
